We provide metal roof installation and repairs in Lake City, Florida as well as Suwannee, Alachua, Dixie, Hamilton, Baker, Clay counties and surrounding areas.
As more homeowners learn about metal roofing and how it compares to shingles, tiles, and other roofing options, they’re embracing this material for many reasons. If you’re not familiar yet with metal roofing, you may be surprised to learn all the benefits.
Metal Roofs Last for Decades
Out of all the roofs in Lake City, Florida as well as Suwannee, Alachua, Dixie, Hamilton, Baker, Clay counties and surrounding areas that we install, metal roofs are the most durable and longest lasting. Florida’s heat, wind, and rain can take a toll on roofs, but despite those factors, the average lifespan of a metal roof is still 40 to 50 years. With the addition of the TCM master’sEDGE workmanship warranties we offer, you can rest assured your metal roof will perform.
Different Types of Metal Roof Materials
Metal roofs can provide a modern, industrial style, but they can also be designed to resemble traditional roofing materials, such as asphalt cedar shake, and slate shingles and clay tiles. Like clay and concrete tiles, metal roofing also comes in a variety of colors and finishes to complement any style of home.
We are a VA registered Vendor and work hand in hand with APD, BSCIP and Medicaid on state funded ADA modification projects.
We are licensed and insured, as well as our subcontractors.
Is a metal roof worth it financially? You bet! A metal roof with a premium color finish is also a cool roof. Through testing at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, it has been proven that an asphalt shingle roof traps heat in your attic.
An Energy Star rated roof reflects heat while the pigments in the color finish re-emit heat giving you a cooler attic. In fact, the Metal Roofing Alliance has a study that showed that a metal roof can save up to 40% of the energy costs to cool your home as compared to shingles.
Tri County Metals offers the Duke the Defender Series paint systems with their metal roofing panels. All of our colors are Energy Star “Cool Roof” colors to provide superior fade and chalk resistance.
You may be asking, but what does “Cool Roof” color really mean to my wallet? Let’s talk about “Cool Roof” math: The average Floridian home electric bill used to cool their home is $140 per month. Using a cool roof can save as much as 30% in cooling energy savings which in the case of the average cooling cost is a savings of $42 each month! When you consider this savings over time, you will save over $7500 in fifteen years and more than $15000 over the course of 30 years. A cool roof will pay for itself over time.
The Ultra Rib is the main-stay, go-to metal roofing panel for many projects. The main difference with the Ultra Rib to other popular panels is it is fastened to the roof with fasteners that can be seen. This is called an "exposed" metal roofing panel.
Looking for a classic, Florida-Cracker, or Key West look for your home? This is the panel for you. This exposed metal roofing fastener is currently available in several energy-efficient, cool roof colors. See the 5V color chart above.
For low-slope, commercial, or agricultural applications, the PBR panel is a rugged metal roofing panel that can get the job done. Available in many Core Defender colors, the PBR panel definitely has it place in our metal roofing panel line up.
Would you rather not see the fasteners like you would with an exposed metal roofing panel? For many residential applications, the TCM-LOK panel may be for you. Available in both Core and Max Defender colors, this standing seam panel will offer your home a pleasing aesthetic along with longevity and security.
Do you like the idea of a standing seam panel with hidden fasteners, but have a home or project that will require a panel run of more than 30 feet? Then you'll want to consider our SL-LOK panel. Using a floating clip system with installation, this panel can span long lengths and is available in our Max Defender, energy efficient colors.
Do you have a commercial project or a larger home that may do will with a pronounced higher rib? The Mech-LOK panel is a standing seam panel that requires a special folding machine to overlap and seal the seam - thus why you see "mech" or "mechanical" in the name. This panel is available in our Max Defender, energy efficient color system.
It’s no secret that metal roofs are popular and can add value, safety, and beauty to your home. The proof is in the numbers. Over the past 10 years, there has been a 300% increase in the popularity of metal roofs according to the Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA). And the MRA has also done research that has shown that metal roofs can increase the resale value of your home an average of 6% in some markets.
When it comes to the topic of how long will a metal roof last, one of the best proofs are the real-life examples of metal roofs that have lasted for generations. Our friends at Tri County Metals are not only passionate about manufacturing and selling metal roofing, many of their employees also own homes with metal roofs or come from families who have enjoyed the longevity and reliability of metal roofs for decades. Consider this video as an example.
